Positive Parenting is a research-based, parent education curriculum that focuses on alternatives to physical punishment in the discipline of children and adolescents. It was developed jointly by family educators of the Minnesota Extension Service, University of Minnesota and University of Wisconsin Extension.

This interactive curriculum includes twenty hourly lessons addressing parenting issues from birth through teen years.

Antonia Lopez, LCSW and Rochelle McGowan, LCSW each have over thirty years of experience working with individuals and families in various settings and across the age span. They are familiar with DFPS client needs through prior experience and as independent contractors to complete Adoption Readiness, Adoption Home and Foster Home Studies. Their practice concentration is mental health.
